Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW is hiring in Muttenz for an interdisciplinary project on immune cell activation using focal molography, microscopy and immunological cell biology. The position is fully funded for an initial 18 months, with the possibility of extension.
Tasks
- Develop and run immune cell activation assays using focal molography and fluorescence microscopy
- Develop and run fluorescence microscopy assays to investigate cellular heterogeneity
- Analyze and model interaction and time-lapse microscopy data in Python
- Adapt and transfer cell-based assays to clinically relevant primary human cells
- Supervise Bachelor and Master students
- Contribute to project management
Requirements
- PhD in Biophysics, Cell Biology, Bioengineering or a related field
- Strong programming skills in Python or R for quantitative data analysis, including microscopy image and time-lapse series analysis
- Strong expertise in fluorescence or live-cell microscopy and quantitative image analysis
- Experience with immune cells
- Experience in protein biochemistry, cell culture and generation of reporter cell lines
- Team-oriented approach and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with label-free biophysical or biosensing methods such as BLI or SPR
- Knowledge of German
