Mercor connects creative and technical talent with AI research labs. This fully remote contract role covers annotation and transcription of Korean PDFs with multimodal elements.
Tasks
- Find publicly accessible Korean PDFs and record their sources
- Identify, bound and classify meaningful page regions in reading order
- Link regions to parent components such as figures or tables
- Transcribe Hangul, hanja and handwritten text; flag illegible regions
- Record page metadata, including document type, dimensions and content flags
- Review another Korean expert’s work end-to-end
Requirements
- Native Korean speaker with full command of Hangul and hanja
- Experience in bilingual transcription, translation, editorial work or AI training data
- Character-level accuracy
- Systematic application of taxonomy across pages
- Comfort with unfamiliar layouts, including multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms
Nice to have
- Experience with AI training data annotation, labeling, grading or bilingual evaluation
- Transcription or localization skills such as MTPE, subtitling, bilingual QA or OCR correction
- Document production experience in typesetting, copy-editing, proofreading or digitization
- Knowledge of Unicode normalization, Korean input methods, Hangul jamo composition and hanja handling
