ppWe are expanding Duferco’s Corporate Innovation Team: a fast-moving engineering team operating in a start-up-like environment, backed by the stability and scale of a diversified global group. /p pYou will work on a wide variety of projects across domains such as energy, trading, logistics, steel, insurance, sports, and other sectors — not as an external consultant, but as part of the group itself, with the ownership and continuity of an internal product and engineering team. /p pYou will build internal platforms, AI-enabled tools, automation systems, and backend infrastructure that remove operational bottlenecks, improve decision-making, and create leverage across the business. /p h3About the Team /h3 pWe sit close to real business problems and have the freedom to prototype and ship quickly. AI is already part of our daily workflow, and we expect that role to keep expanding. /p pWe care about building things well, shipping systems that create leverage, and working with people who make the team better. /p pWe appreciate engineers who enjoy ownership, fast iteration, pragmatic problem solving, and AI-assisted development. /p h3What You’ll Do /h3 pDesign and build systems that make the organization faster and smarter: /p ul liBackend services and APIs, mainly with FastAPI, Postgres, and AWS-based services /li liIntegrations across internal and third-party systems, often where the hard part is understanding the domain, not the code /li liAI-enabled automation, agents, and operational tools /li liEngineering tooling that improves how we build and ship /li liData and decision-support pipelines, including data platforms and internal analytics tooling /li /ul pYou’ll help identify opportunities, prototype, ship, measure impact, and iterate — not just execute specs. /p h3What We Offer /h3 ul liA high-autonomy role with direct influence on what gets built /li liModern AI-assisted engineering tools and time to explore new technologies and approaches /li liA fast-moving, collaborative environment with talented and ambitious people /li liA broad variety of technical and business challenges across different domains /li liCompetitive compensation and benefitsli /liliFlexible working hours and hybrid work setup /li /ul h3You’re Probably a Fit If /h3 ul liYou have 5+ years building production backend systems in Python, and could comfortably own a FastAPI service from design to deployment /li liYou can design a data model from a messy business problem — choosing the right entities, relationships, and trade-offs — not just implement one someone else specified /li liYou make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, quality, and maintainability, and can explain why /li liYou enjoy integration work and take the time to understand a business process before modeling it in code /li liYou use AI coding tools daily — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar — and have opinions about where they help and where they don’t /li liYou’re comfortable with Postgres in production, including schema design, query performance, and migrations, and have experience with AWS /li /ul pExperience with data warehouses such as Redshift, LLM applications, agent frameworks, MCP servers, or complex operational domains is a strong plus. /p pYou do not need experience with every technology we use.
