Frontify hires in St. Gallen for its Engineering team. The role builds and operates the media delivery path, processing and serving images and video at approximately 180 TB of traffic per month.
Tasks
- Build media transformation services for image resizing, format conversion and video processing
- Design and operate services on Kubernetes (EKS), including Helm charts, deployments and alerts
- Develop asynchronous bulk processing, job queues, autoscaling and customer fairness
- Improve delivery speed and cost through caching and CDN infrastructure
- Review code and document designs, decisions and runbooks
Requirements
- Experience designing, building and maintaining scalable backend and background processing services
- Production operations experience with Kubernetes, Helm, monitoring and live-system debugging
- AWS architecture and infrastructure experience, including performance and cost optimisation for S3, CloudFront, Lambda and ALB at scale
- Comfort with Docker and Linux, and ability to read, compile and debug C++
- Ability to read PHP and fix occasional bugs
- Fluent English

- Media pipeline experience with FFmpeg, codecs, image or video processing; HDR and video expertise especially valued
