For our big pharmaceutical company in Rotkreuz we are looking for a highly qualified Biospecimen Specialist - BioRepository Specialist.
Background: You would be joining the Biospecimen Acquisition and Management (BAM) team in Rotkreuz. BAM is a service organization that has four teams situated across Europe and North America and that uses global capabilities with local support structures to drive integrated biological specimen solutions that accelerate Roche Diagnostics strategy.
The Biospecimen Specialist will manage the end-to-end biorepository activities to fulfil our customer's specimen request in compliance with local regulatory requirements, quality, business, and industry best practices/standards.
The perfect candidate is a highly motivated, organized, and accountable team player with a meticulous attention to detail. For this specific role, we are looking for a solution driven individual who can maintain quality, accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
The perfect candidate:
The ideal candidate holds a degree in Life Sciences paired with practical experience handling biological specimens and using validated tools like LIMS. Exceptional attention to detail is critical for maintaining strict biospecimen traceability, data accuracy, and regulatory compliance. Driven and highly organized, this candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment while managing end-to-end sample acquisition
and project timelines. Excellent communication skills in English (B2 minimum) enable them to collaborate seamlessly across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Management of one or more product development projects
• Ensures delivery and definition of project deliveries including product requirements and specifications in alignment with internal and external stakeholders & suppliers
• Identification, mitigation and impact analysis of project risks, issues and management of their mitigations
• Planning and controlling the project budget and resources
• Monitor the progress of the project against the project plan and ensure the timely delivery of work packages and their quality, also with external partners
• Leading and managing the project team with matrix organization
• Strong collaboration with internal stakeholders & suppliers
  Biorepository
• Manage and perform biological material processing, registration, shipment, returns, verification activities, retrievals, and inventory searches in a validated environment.
• Take accountability for end-to-end project management and biorepository management activities to fulfill customer specimen requests.
• Collaborate with relevant permitting agencies, import/export compliance, and local Safety and Biorepository Teams to comply with permit requirements.
  Others
• Maintains compliance with BAM processes, including but not limited to the collection and maintenance of relevant documentation, receipt and review of sample data to secure an accurate and complete sample and data set.
• Assumes responsibility for accuracy, quality, and timeliness of work within supported projects and responding appropriately to changing priorities.
• Effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders to establish timelines and meet defined project goals.
• Maintain information in a validated laboratory information management system compliant with GxP principles and standards.
  Must Haves Experiences / Skills:
• Life science Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 1-3 years relevant experience in sample acquisition, data management, biobanking OR Life science Master's degree or equivalent, some experience in sample management, biobanking or related area
• Experience in Handling biological specimens; willingness to work with potentially infectious biological material.
• IT skills: Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite, Experience with LIMS or other validated systems
• English (min. B2)
• Hepatitis vaccination available
• Able to lift 10 kg - 15 kg
  Soft Skills:
• Ability to follow detailed standard procedures and strong understanding of the concept of biospecimen traceability.
• Meticulous attention to detail, committed to ensuring the highest quality, accuracy, and timeliness of biospecimen deliverables.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with efficiency; and capable of handling multiple projects.
• Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to effectively manage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
  Nice to Have:
• Experience in research, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, CRO or medical device industry.
• Good communication in German
